In class on Monday, 2/23, we discussed poems' Point of View- from who's perspective is it written? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd? Why would you choose a particular point of view- does it change the mood or meaning of the poem? Experiment with poems written in different points of view. Click "Comments" if you have one to share!
In class on Friday, 2/20, we discussed using metaphors in poetry- the comparison of two unlike things (NOT using "like" or "as"). Start with a topic, thing of another noun to compare it to, and then describe how those two things are alike! Have fun with figurative language!
In class on Thursday, 2/19, we discussed writing poems that are OOZING with IMAGERY!!! Choose any topic that interests you (something in nature is a good starting point!) and describe it in a poem using all 5 senses. It doesn't have to rhyme (but it CAN if you want). It can be short or long. Just paint a picture with your words! Click "Comments" to share your imagery poem.
As we begin our poetry project, let's get into the spirit of things by sharing ANY KIND of poem that you've EVER written about ANYTHING that you'd like to share! Click on "Comments" and post your poem. Read and respond to others' poems with encouraging comments.
